MINORITY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON FOR TABCO 2023

Served as the Minority Affairs Committee Chairperson for the Teachers Association of Baltimore County for 2023. Gave a financial presentation about Generational Wealth at a Black Lives Matter at School event after which I was recruited by the TABCO Board of Directors to restart this inactive committee as chairperson representing all the educators and students in Baltimore County. Spent the year relaunching the committee from the ground up and rebuilt the committee membership and leadership.

English language learners…for being a role model for both students and other professionals with his warm and respectful demeanor… for working to develop a Films and History course that connects students to such topics as minority representation, generational wealth, and the connection between the economy and history…for being selected to attend the National Council of Urban Education…for pursuing a Masters plus 60 and National Board Certification…for participating in TABCO’s Black Lives Matter Symposium as a presenter on financial literacy…And for establishing a website as a resource open to anyone looking for instruction in the area of personal finance.

Teacher of Promise Program Description 

The Teachers of Promise Program and Institute, winner of the Daily Records Innovators of the Year Award, began as an outgrowth of the Maryland Teacher of the Year program and capitalized on the expertise of Teachers of the Year and other award-winning teachers by matching them with the most promising pre-service graduating seniors from Maryland Colleges and Universities. Mentor and protégé work together online during the spring and summer transition period until the new teachers are placed in their schools.
